KATADYN CAMP FILTER

Operating Instructions

Gravity filter to disinfect water, making bacteriologically contaminated water safe to drink, without changing its mineral content. The ceramic with a pore size of only 0.2 microns removes all bacterial pathogens from the water, i.e. Salmonella, Colibacillosis, Vibrio Cholera, Amoebas, Schistosoma (Bilharziasis), Giardia, Cryptosporidium, etc.

The Camp Filter will not desalinate water, reduce chemicals or improve taste. Do not use cleaning or disinfection agents on the ceramic filter element; do not sterilise in boiling water or steam. Do not dry on hot surfaces, in ovens or microwave appliances.


   Operation

  • First use: discard 4 litres (1 gallon) of water.
  • Every use: rinse hose.

   Transport & Storage

  • Use casing for transport & storage.


   Drying

  • If not used longer than 2 days, let filter dry completely in the air.


   Cleaning

  • Clean at least once a week. Use the abrasive pad to lightly brush the element until the original colour of the element is restored.


   Safety Check

  • If the element is cracked or the measuring gauge fits around the element at its thinnest point (without force), protection from bacterial infection can no longer be guaranteed if the filter is still used.
